Gayle G. Willis

Gayle Willis of Greenfield, WI passed away at the age of 86 on December 13, 2017. He was born on December 8, 1931 to William and Clara (Ferguson) Willis. Gayle graduated from Ithaca High School, Richland County Normal, Platteville, and Masters from Whitewater. He taught for 38 years. Six years in Richland County and 32 years in Greenfield. On June 23, 1956, he married Barbara (Ghastin) who survives him. To this union four children were born, Heidi (Doug) Aasen, Minneapolis, MN, the late Greg Willis, Leslie (John) Zaganczyki, Franklin; Dean (Renee) Willis, Spring Green. 10 grandchildren, Erik (Tiffany) Aasen, Brett (Meghan) Aasen, Brittany (Chris) Bennett, Ashley (Kurt) Drone, Nicole Geske, Jason (Amber) Geske, John Zaganczyk Jr., Anna (Josh) Sheteron, Zachary Zaganczyk, Logan Willis and 16 great grandchildren. Twin brother of Gaylord (Marie) Willis; Sisters-in-law Fern (the late Leslie) Willis, Beverly (Stanley) Schoonover, Judy Schlafer, Linda Treu, nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Leslie and infant brother Leland, son Greg, his in laws Albert and Gladys Ghastin. A Memorial visitation will be held at ST. LUKE'S EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH (6705 Northway, Greendale, WI) on Saturday December 30, 2017 from 9:30 AM until time of Celebration of Life service at 11 AM. Private Interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Luke's Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. The family extends a special thanks to all the staff at Vitas Ruth Hospice.
