Frederica F. Jatczak

April 20, 1939 — September 25, 2022

Jatczak, Frederica “Freddy”

Passed away peacefully on September 25, 2022 at age 83 with her family at her side. Proud mother of Julann (Mike Davis), Bill (Cindy), and David (Patty) Jatczak; grandmother of six wonderful grandkids, two grand daughters-in-law, and four great grands (with baby girl great grand on the way this December). Freddy is further survived by her sister-in-law Chris Alter, brother-in-law Gene Jatczak, dear “cousin-sister” Joyce Kuderski, fellow “out-law” John Alter, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, grand dogs, and her SHML senior residence family.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Richard “Dick” Jatczak; her granddaughter Kayla Jatczak; parents Julia and Saturn Sadowski; in-laws Marie and Frank Jatczak; brother and his wife Bob and LaVerne Sadowski; brothers-in law and sisters-in-law Frank (Gloria) Jatczak, Phillis (Maynard) Garland, Ralph (Rosie) Jatczak; and other loved ones.

Freddy was one of a kind. She graduated from Mercy High School, studied at Alverno College, and graduated from Seattle University (while 8½ months pregnant with her first child!). Together with Dick, they made a great life and raised their family in Greendale’s “R” section for 50 years. Freddy was one of the few working moms in the neighborhood, with a long-time career at Greendale Public Schools.

Always caring about others, Freddy shared her talents and time through so many causes. She was active at St. Al’s Parish whether through the “Good News Singers,” or the Resurrection Choir, or most recently, helping count the Sunday offerings each week. She was involved with her kids’ scouting, school reading programs, and helping clean just about any place that needed cleaning.

Freddy will always be remembered for her warm smile, making new SHML neighbors feel welcome, game playing (teaching her kids and grands how to play Dominoes, Sheepshead, 65, Rummikub, Phase 10, Cribbage, and everything in between), traveling the world with family, daily Black Russians, decadent Éclair cake, her crocheted Christmas Santa stockings, and being a second “mom” to so many. She was the best hugger that ever lived – her hugs were never in short supply.

A memorial visitation will be held at ST. ALPHONSUS PARISH (6060 W. Loomis Rd, Greendale, WI) on Saturday October 15, 2022 from 9 – 10:45 AM with the Memorial Mass to begin at 11 AM. As her last gift, Freddy has donated her body to the Medical College of Wisconsin as a “silent teacher.” In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital ( https://www.stjude.org/ ), St. Alphonsus Parish ( https://www.st-alphonsus.org/ ), or a charity of your choice.
