Frances J. Maio (nee Oliva) of St. Francis, 93, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022. She was born on March 30, 1929, in Pennsylvania to the late John and Concetta Oliva. Frances was united in marriage on September 17, 1949, to Tony Maio in Milwaukee. She was a fabulous cook who showed her love through her cooking. Frances was a mom-extraordinaire that was always in the kitchen, you never left her house hungry. She enjoyed baking her famous “chocolate crunchies” and made sure her children had care packages of her homemade food. For Frances, family was her life and she loved spending time with everyone. Devoted mother to Christine (Daniel Turkoski) Maio, Mark (Catherine) Maio and Anthony (Lucia) Maio, beloved grandmother of Frank (Becky), Fernando, and Vincent, devoted great-grandmother to Jay and Macy. Further survived by sister-in-law Rosalie Oliva, many nieces, nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 7 siblings. Visitation at the MAX A SASS & SONS GREENRIDGE CHAPEL (4747 S. 60th St., Greenfield, WI) on Monday, April 18, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue the following day Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH (1720 E. Norwich Ave., Milwaukee) from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee. Thank you to the Hales Corners Care Center for the compassionate care, especially Hunter for helping Frances place her goodnight calls.
