Fr. Richard J. Talaska

Talaska, Rev Richard J Born to eternal life on June 8, 2016 at the age of 73. Beloved son of the late Richard and Jean Talaska. Loving brother of Arlene (Mark) Voelz and Vivian (Bruce) Kuss. Dear uncle of Katherine (Kurt) Jerke and Adrienne (Wesley) Selke. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Visitation at Max Sass Funeral Home, Greenridge Chapel on Sunday, June 19, 5-7pm with the Vigil service at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Church, 8500 W. Cold Spring Rd. Greenfield, Monday June 20, 10am. Final Commendation by Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki. Burial at St. Adalbert Cemetery following the Mass. Memorials appreciated for Masses in his name or to St John the Evangelist Parish School. Fr Talaska graduated from St Francis Seminary and was ordained a priest on May 18, 1968. After ordination Fr. Talaska was assigned to St. Sebastian, Milwaukee and then became associate pastor of Christ the King, Wauwatosa. He also served at Holy Family Parish, Cudahy, St. Stanislaus/Notre Dame High School, Milwaukee, St. Joseph, Racine and St Jude the Apostle, Wauwatosa. Fr Talaska became the Pastor at St Casimir, Kenosha in 1983. . On June 23, 1992, Father Talaska was appointed pastor for St. John the Evangelist Parish, Greenfield, where he continued to serve this faith community until his retirement from active ministry on June 30, 2008. Fr. Richard's sisters would like to thank those very special friends who extended their care, friendship and concern for their brother.
