F. Michael Holmes

Holmes F. Michael "Mike" Born in Kansas City, MO. on January 23, 1947 and found peace Tuesday, September 27, 2016. Dear son of Fred Holmes and Alberda Olendorf (nee McCallum). Beloved husband of Maureen O'Laughlin for 33 years. Loving father of Michael (Heather) Holmes. Stepfather of Ryan Czeszynski. Grandpa of Ainslie and Emilie. Beloved cousin of Jim, Jerry and Joe Meyer. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Visitation at Max Sass Funeral Home, Greenridge chapel, Sunday, October 2, 12pm-2pm. Funeral service at 2pm. Mike graduated from Southwest High School, Kansas City, in 1965. Proudly served our country in the Army in Vietnam, 1967-1968, as a crew chief on helicopters. He earned his bachelor's degree from UMKC and a Master's Degree in Counseling at UW -Whitewater. Mike was a Music Therapist and credited with developing the Music Therapy Program for MPS in 1974 and started his second career as a Financial Planner in 1994 until 2009. He was a private pilot, an amateur body builder and also enjoyed scuba diving, sailing, skiing and playing tennis. Max A.
