Evelyn was a very hard working little girl on the family farm and later in life at her jobs she held at Goldman's Department store , also Sears and then National grocery store. She was only 18 when she married John Marciniak on July 14, 1941 and they started their life together. They finally got their dream house years later in New Berlin and she loved to plant flowers and John loved to keep his yard perfect. Together they were quite the team and she enjoyed cooking and baking and entertaining family and whoever dropped in for a visit. Evelyn had pies and cakes baked on a Saturday just in case someone stopped by on Sunday. She always had a house full of relatives from Chicago & up north. She loved to make chicken soup and her cinnamon rolls and peanut squares were some of the best. She was quite the seamstress and made clothes for herself, her daughter and her grandchildren. She also loved to decorate her house and do flower arranging. She was told more than once that her house looked like something in a magazine. She was a very proud woman. Evelyn lost John at the age of 55 and that was one of the hardest things she had ever faced. Then at age 91 she lost her dear son Richard to a very short illness.
