Eva Ochs, a loving, gentle, and faith-filled woman, has entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on April 24, 2023, in Mukwonago, Wisconsin. Born on July 1, 1924, in Hague, North Dakota, Eva lived a remarkable life that was a testament to her unwavering faith, strong work ethic, and devotion to her family.
Eva was a woman of many talents, one of which was her love for carpentry work. She believed in the words of St. Francis of Assisi, who once said, "He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist." Eva was, indeed, an artist who used her hands, head, and heart to create beautiful and useful pieces that brought joy and comfort to her family and friends.
Eva was a devoted wife to her late husband, Carl Ochs, who preceded her in glory. Together, they built a strong and loving family that was the center of their lives. Eva was a loving mother to her children, the late Sharon Weiler (married to the late Lester), Gerald (married to Kimberly), and Carla (married to Dave Guckenberger). She was a proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, cherishing every moment she spent with her beloved family.
Eva's love extended beyond her immediate family, as she also welcomed her former daughter-in-law, Deborah Ochs, into her heart.
Special recognition to all her friends and the staff at Brenwood Park Senior Apartments, especially the late Carmella Pintarro and Ann Felton (Eva's special guardian angel). The three of them were known as The Three Musketeers.
Eva's life was a living example of the scripture found in Proverbs 31:28, "Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her."
As a woman of deep faith, Eva was a guiding light to those around her. Her gentle spirit and unwavering love for the Lord touched the lives of many, and her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Eva was a living embodiment of the words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 16:14, "Let all that you do be done in love."
Although Eva has left this earthly realm, we rejoice in the knowledge that she is now in the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ. We are reminded of the words of the great hymn "Amazing Grace" by John Newton, "Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come; 'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home." Eva's faith in the saving grace of Jesus Christ has brought her safely home, where she now rests in the loving arms of her Lord.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Eva Ochs, let us remember the love, joy, and faith that she brought to each of our lives. We will forever cherish the memories we have shared with her, and we will honor her memory by continuing to live our lives in the loving and gentle spirit that she so beautifully demonstrated.
In closing, let us remember the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing."
Eva Ochs, a loving, gentle, and faith-filled woman, has indeed fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her, and may her life serve as a shining example of the love, grace, and mercy of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Amen.
