Budzisz, Eugene A. A longtime resident of St. Francis, passed away peacefully and went to the Lord on Saturday, May 23, 2009, after a very courageous battle with cancer at the age of 82 years. Eugene, also known as Joe, was born Dec. 15, 1926, in Milwaukee, to the late Michael and Helen Budzisz. He was one of 13 children. On Sept. 16, 1950, he married the former Beatrice R. Kozlowski in Milwaukee. Beatrice preceded him in death on June 15, 2000. The couple resided in St. Francis for nearly 55 years and raised five children. Eugene was a member of the United States Army Air Corp from 1945-47, stationed in Germany during World War II. Eugene enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, especially Westerns, with family. He also enjoyed watching Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers games ... and the Weather channel. He recently spent time with family during a vacation in Arizona. Survivors include his five children: Sharon (Reid) Hansen, Mesa, Az., Michael (Debbie) Budzisz, Oak Creek, WI., Susan (Keith) Armstrong, Freeport, Fl., Paul (Susan) Budzisz, Greenfield, WI., and Russell (Kate) Budzisz, Manitowoc, WI.; 10 grandchildren: Joseph Hansen, Mesa, Az., Michelle Hansen, Phoenix, Az., Tracy Budzisz and fianc� Brian Gifford, Oshkosh, WI., Amy (Chip) Barylak, Lee Summit, Mo., Carrie (Alex) Pantich, Milwaukee, WI., Jessica Budzisz, Oshkosh, WI., Kevin Budzisz, Milwaukee, WI., Lacey Budzisz, Manitowoc, WI., Rachel Budzisz, Greenfield, WI., and Alexander Budzisz, Manitowoc, WI.; and 1 great-grandchild: Aralynn Budzisz, Manitowoc, WI. Also surviving includes a special sister, Gertrude Polewczynski, St. Francis, WI., and one brother, Leonard Bud, Milwaukee, WI; two brother-in-laws, Leonard Kozlowski, Greenfield, WI., and Gilbert Kozlowski, Milwaukee, WI.; a special family friend, Stanley (Raquel) Dombrowski, Hales Corners, WI., other relatives and friends, and his special four-legged buddy, Duke. Besides his beloved wife, Beatrice, Eugene was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters and numerous in-laws and other family members. A special thank you to Sharon, Michael and Paul for the wonderful care they gave their Dad in his final months. You were saints. Also, thanks to the Aurora VNA home-care hospice for their kind words and comfort toward Eugene. We'll miss you Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa, but you are at home with the Lord and your wife. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday May 28, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Alexander Catholic Church (3344 S. 16th St.). Entombment will take place at St. Adalbert Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends Wednesday May 27, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Max A. Sass & Sons Greenridge Chapel and thereafter from 9:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Thursday at St. Alexander Catholic Church.
