Esther A. Nelson

Nelson, Esther A. (nee Uttke) Joined her husband Galen in Heaven on February 15, 2011 at the age of 93. Beloved mother of Galen "Russ" (Patti), Sherri-Lynn (Bob) Syta and David (Cindy). Proud grandmother of Derek Nelson, Peggy (Jon) Ksobiech, Matthew (Jeanna) Nelson, Dianna (Chris) Mooney and Melissa and Michael Syta. Cherished great grandmother of Ryan, Christian, Dominick, Danica, Brandon, Samantha and Ellicienne. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Funeral service Friday at 7 pm at Grace Lutheran Church (3030 W. Oklahoma Ave.). Visitation Friday 4-6:45 pm at the church. Family and friends will meet Saturday at 10:30 am at the Arlington Park Cemetery Chapel (4141 S. 27th) for the committal service. Esther was a member of St. Andrews, Ebenezer and Grace Lutheran Churches where she was a Sunday school teacher, a Rangerette leader, altar guild member and vice-president of the Mission League. She loved bingo, the Brewers, Lawrence Welk and game shows and group tours with Galen.
