Age 88, went home to the Lord on April 27, 2017 at Allis Care Center in West Allis, WI. He was born on January 16, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI to Stanley and Helen Jankowiak. Erv grew up in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Milwaukee, WI. After high school, he spent 6 years in the United States Coast Guard. He then apprenticed in tool and die making where shortly thereafter he went to work at Master Lock. He retired from Master Lock in 1992 after years of employment. Erv married Helen Braunschweig on November 12, 1966 in Milwaukee, WI. They were happily married for 51 years. Erv was a member of St. John Kanty Catholic Church. He spent many years enjoying playing sports and officiating sports. Most importantly he had a passion for The Knights of Columbus where for years he gave his heart, soul, time and resources to this wonderful life-long endeavor. His passion and love for the Knights for anyone that knows him was second to none. Through the years, Erv gave his time freely and he held numerous positions in The Knights of Columbus. During his many years in the Fraternal Organization he achieved the high honor of Master as well as State Deputy. Erv is survived by his wife Helen. A visitation will be held at ST. JOHN PAUL II, St. Alexander Church (1568 W. Holt Ave. Milwaukee, WI) on Saturday May 6, 2017 from 9:00 - 10:15 AM with the funeral mass to begin at 10:30 AM. Entombment St. Adalbert Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated. "4th Degree Honor Guard please attend"
