Szpek, Ervin E., Sr. Age 89. Entered into Eternal Life on June 24, 2015, to be reunited with his "You are My Sunshine", sweetheart wife, Dolores. Beloved father of Leslie (Joseph) Kastner, Ervin Jr. (Donna), Heidi (Frank) Idzikowski, Randy (Barbara), Timothy (Tina) and Perry (Debra). Proud grandfather of Morgan (Rob) Kostelnik, Jack; Jessica, Daniel, Samuel; Sara, Alex; Joshua, Nicholas; Nathan, Olivia; and Paige. Dear brother of Anna Ames, Benny (Bonnie), Frank (Mary), Rose (Ray) Kurlowski and Donald (Elaine). Brother-in-law of Nancy Speck and Judith Jarozewski. Further survived by nieces, nephews, god children, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Valentine and Helen, brothers Walter "Ace", Johnny, Ray, Joe, Stanley and sisters Lucille "Lou" and Adeline. Erv served in the US Army in WWII and was a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge. He was an EX- POW of Stalag 4B, Muhlberg and EX- POW of Slaughterhouse 5, Dresden. He was a member of the 106th Infantry Division Association and retired, long time UAW Auto Worker for American Motors/Chrysler. He was also a long time member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish. Erv passed on to his family his creativity in art and music. He played the guitar, harmonica and keyboard. He enjoyed drawing cartoons of daily life. Although he never rode a horse, he was a fan of Western film and music. Special thanks to his doctors and staff at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital, Bright Star caregivers; Willie, Sue, Cheryl, Clarise and Sarah, the staff at Virginia Health and Rehabilitation, Waukesha, and Gentiva Hospice. Very special thanks to long time caregivers Janelle Weber and granddaughter Jess. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family will benefit Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, The Gardens of Virginia Health and Rehab, Gentiva Hospice and the 106th Infantry Association. Visitation at the St. Adalbert Cemetery Chapel, 3801 S. 6th St., on Monday, June 29 from 10 am 12 noon. Funeral Service at 12 noon.
