Elizabeth Cano

May 8, 1924 — February 6, 2011

Cano, Elizabeth F. "Bette" (nee Frew) Passed away peacefully, joining her beloved Hugo in Heaven on February 6, 2011 at the age of 86. Loving mother of Danielle (Harry) Dukas, Alicia (Davie) Jacobs, Janine (John) Graber and Lindsay Cano. Proud grandmother of Garrett (Megan), Nicholas, Evan, John Jr. and Miguel. Cherished aunt of Matthew Cano and Leslie Staples. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitation Friday 4-8 pm with a 7 pm prayer service at the Max A. Sass & Sons Greenridge Chapel. Additional visitation Saturday 10:30-11 am at Wisconsin Memorial Park (13250 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield) followed by a funeral service at 11 am. Interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park Bette was very dedicated to her family and community. She was a homemaker, volunteer for the PTA and the Girl Scouts, an advocate for Milwaukee Public Schools, a member of the Republican Party and an avid sports fan. Bette's warm heart and generous nature made her a mother to the many friends who were lucky enough to be part of the extended family. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staffs at Layton Terrace and Zilber Hospice for all of their loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Bette Cano Community Service Scholarship Fund (Riverside University High School) appreciated.
