Elaine "Lonnie" Freiberg

It is with great sorrow to announce that Elaine Joyce Freiberg (“Lonnie”), born March 21,1926 in Wausau, passed away on December 15, 2018 at the age of 92. She was the beloved wife of the late John W. Freiberg and loving mother of Debbie (Dan Burr) and Daniel. She was the daughter of the late Leo and Sarah Crooks and was the last surviving sister of several siblings – 7 brothers and 6 sisters. Elaine spent her early yrs. in Fond du Lac and left her childhood home to live in Milwaukee for the majority of her remaining years. She retired 27 yrs. ago in 1991 from C&H Distributors as a Sales & Service rep. She enjoyed reading novels, especially Danielle Steel, working on crossword puzzles/word search and loved watching the Green Bay Packers with the Milwaukee Brewers as a close second. Remembering extended family was very important to her. Her quick wit and candor would often make people laugh. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her memorial, which will be held at Blessed Sacrament, her parish of 60 yrs, on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 3100 S. 41st St., Milwaukee. The gathering is from 12-12:45 PM and the mass will follow at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider contributing donations to the American Cancer Society in Southeastern Wisconsin. Following Mass, the family will be going to a local restaurant to continue the celebration of Lonnie's life, please contact Debbie or Daniel to let them know if you are able to attend.
