Elaine Louise Drydyk Passed away February 19, 2022 at the age of 98. She was born to Mr Arno and Elsie Stippich in Hayfield, Minnesota Dec. 24, 1923. Her family moved to Waukesha in 1927. In 1949 she married Ralph Drydyk. They were married for 61 years. Elaine is preceded in death by her husband Ralph and 2 brothers Alvin and LeRoy Stippich. She is survived by one sister, Esther Hofmann, 3 children: Jennifer, Kathryn, Henry Drydyk, and many nieces and nephews. Elaine graduated from Waukesha High School in 1941. She worked in the library at Milwaukee Technical College. While raising her children, she was part of the Greendale Suburban Players and Greendale Women's Club. She also sang in the Women’s Club chorus, and Greendale Community church choir. After moving to Kentucky in 1966, she worked for a local pastor and at “Howards” a retail store in Cynthiana Ky. In 1978 Elaine and Ralph moved back to Greendale and Elaine worked at the Milwaukee Airport as a traveler’s aide, sorted books at the local library, ushered at the Performing Arts Center, volunteered for the “Visit Milwaukee Convention Bureau, and worked at Gimbels/ Younkers department stores. She enjoyed the trip she took to Australia with her husband Ralph and the trips to Africa, and Europe with her lifelong friend Mag Italiano. Elaine especially loved the time she spent in Paris. An avid bridge enthusiast, Elaine played with many bridge groups over the years. In 2013 Elaine moved into the Avalon Square senior living home in Waukesha. She enjoyed many of the activities there: Brainy Bunch, Oops Music Group, Brown Bag Lunches, Lectures, Drama Club, Musical events, and Bible Studies. Elaine loved opera and faithfully listened to the Saturday “Live from the Met” broadcasts. In lieu of flowers we ask that you support your local theatre/music and arts groups in her honor. There will be a Celebration of her Life on May 14th from 1:00 PM-4:00pm for Family and Friends, at: Avalon Square, 222 Park Place, Waukesha Wisconsin.
