Duane Patrick Mazur Passed away on December 3, 2020, at the age of 54 years. Duane was born in Milwaukee on June 12th, 1966, the eldest of five children to Stefan (Steve) and Wendy Mazur. He was the husband to Tamara (Tammy), whom he married in 1995, and father to their son James, who was the pride of his life. In addition to Tammy and James, he is survived by his father Steve and siblings Laurel, Peter (Lukas Longoria), and Thomas (Shannon Palmer). Preceded in death by his mother Wendy and his sister Colleen. Duane graduated from South Division High School in 1984 and joined the St Francis Police Department in 1992. He also served as school resource officer for the St. Francis community from 2015 to 2020. As a young man, Duane was involved in the Explorer Scouts, and he attended Camp Ammon at the Wisconsin State Fair several years. He was also an avid fan of hockey, bowling, golf, and hunting. Duane loved to travel, and together with his friend Jeff Lee, he attended major league baseball games at numerous stadiums in the US. During his travels, Duane enjoyed trying out the best burger and barbecue restaurants across the country. He also looked forward to attending the Indianapolis 500 every year with his son James and his uncles, Michael Roubik and David Anderson. Duane’s family wishes to thank Dr. Federico Sanchez and the incredible staff at St Luke’s Cancer Center in Milwaukee. They express their gratitude to Dr. Henry Pitot and Dr. Amit Mahipal, along with nurses Sally and Kristen, who cared for Duane at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The family also wishes to thank Duane’s friend and fellow officer, Kevin Jackson, Duane’s cousin, Michael Roubik, and the Steffes family for taking care of Duane when they could not. A Visitation will be held at the MAX A. SASS & SONS GREENRIDGE CHAPEL (4747 S. 60TH ST. GREENFIELD, WI.) on Wednesday December 9, 2020 from 3 PM until time of services at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to cops.org (Concerns of Police Survivors) would be appreciated. The funeral service will be livestreamed at 7 PM. Strict adherence to the CDC, local government and Health Department regulations the Funeral Home and the family will require everyone to be wearing a mask. Also a capacity limit will be maintained so if you can't be at the funeral home for the service you may watch the service live on the Funeral Homes Website.
