Dorothy Louise Kobelinski, a beacon of warmth and love, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023, in Greenfield, Wisconsin, at the age of 96. Born on January 26, 1927, in Wisconsin, Dorothy's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and the deep bonds she forged with those around her.
Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Richard Kobelinski, and together they built a life filled with joy and family. She was the cherished mother of James (the late Pamela) Kobelinski, Thomas (Christine) Kobelinski, and Rick Kobelinski. Her role as a grandmother was one she held dear, showering love upon her grandchildren Jason, Michael, Andrew (Cyra), Matthew (Hillary), Mark, Rebecca (Jonathan), Sarah, and Stephanie. She also embraced the joys of being a great-grandmother to Violet and Chetwynd. Dorothy's love extended to her siblings, Mary Ann Hurm and Ruth Wargolet, who will remember her fondly as a dear sister.
Dorothy's commitment to her community was evident through her active involvement in various organizations. She served as the Past President of Blessed Sacrament Senior Club. Her dedication to the Blessed Sacrament of Christian Women group was a reflection of her faith and her desire to serve others. Dorothy was also a long-time member of the American Legion F.D.R. Post 444, where she found camaraderie and purpose.
Professionally, Dorothy was known for her years as a waitress at Tasty Town in Gimbels Department Store. It was there that she made many lasting friendships, touching the lives of colleagues and customers alike with her kindness and her ever-present smile. Her work was more than a job; it was an extension of her natural ability to connect with people and make them feel at home.
Dorothy's life was a beautiful mosaic of love, service, and community. She had a gift for making everyone she met feel special and valued. Her laughter was infectious, her advice was sought after, and her presence was a comfort to all. Visitation will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church (3100 S. 41st St., Milwaukee, WI) on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 10-10:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Burial to follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Clement Manor for the compassionate care they provided to Dorothy. The family is especially grateful for Pam, who helped facilitate the Facetime call and kept everyone connected.
