Dorothy "Dot" E.S. Jameson, 97, of Franklin, passed away on December 7, 2023. Dorothy was born in Magna, Utah on March 28, 1926, daughter of Stephen Saathoff and Susan Anne White Saathoff. She was raised with her two brothers and two sisters on Post Street, in Salt Lake City, Utah. After high school she went to work as a secretary at Firestone, rising from a receptionist to the "boss's head secretary" in a few short years. One afternoon, while working late she met her future husband, Sydney Jameson. After they were married (September 1, 1945), Syd finished school and joined the National Park Service so they moved to Coolidge, Arizona (Casa Grande National Park). A few years later they relocated to Salt Lake City and finally moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As her girls grew up, she enjoyed splashing in their backyard pool, exercising, playing cards with friends and volunteering at her daughters' schools. She loved her family camping trips and road journeys to visit family in Utah.
Dorothy was the librarian at Joyce Kilmer Elementary School, a job she took so much pleasure in that she attended Alverno College to get an Associates Degree in Library Science. In the mid 70's, Dot developed an interest in creating stained glass art, specializing in unique wild birds, flowers and dogs. Her hobby grew into a business selling her work at craft shows in southeastern Wisconsin. She was an avid reader and crossword puzzle fan. Dot worked in her flower garden and employed many crafting skills including embroidery, cross-stitch, knitting, crocheting, and even cake decorating. After retirement she spent her spare time with family and friends, including going on trips with her daughters to Egypt, Alaska, Mexico, Utah, the DC area, Las Vegas and southeastern Canada. In her later years she lived with her daughter, Cynthia and her family in Franklin, Wisconsin.
