Doreen Ann Brown

Doreen Ann Brown (nee Donnelly) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 10, at the age of 95. Dear wife of the late Roland Wilson Brown, she was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Jean Cameron and Linda’s husband Glenn Cameron. Beloved mother of Kristin Cmeyla (Andy), Karol Cink (Jim), and son Jim. Cherished grandmother of Matthew Ignatiev, Emily Ignatiev and Peter Ignatiev (Jessica), Bryan Cink, (Julie), Rachel Cink; and Justin Brogni (Sarah). Proud great grandmother of Ella Ignatiev, Cara Fuchs, Henry Fuchs, and Finley Ignatiev, Marissa Brogni and Tressa Brogni. She was preceded in death by sister Joanne Daley, Daniel Donnelly and Michael Donnelly. Further loved by her sister Mary (Ron) Muchenburger and her brother Pat Donnelly (Judy). Dear friend of Ray Meyer and further survived by other dear relatives and friends. Born to Clement and Edna Donnelly on the 4th of July in 1925, this red- haired daughter graduated from West Milwaukee High School as a transfer student from Greendale where she spent her teenage years hiking the woods with her lifelong friends, Gloria, Peggy and Dorothy. A passionate reader, her main childhood goal was to read all the books in the library and she pursued her passion at Marquette University in the Journalism Department. She married the dashing airplane pilot Roland Wilson Brown and they raised their four children in the house they built in Greenfield, where they were active in politics and enjoyed traveling to the National Parks and camping with their kids for many years. Doreen had a long career in admissions at Columbia Hospital and Trinity Memorial Hospital and she enjoyed being with her wonderful group of friends playing bridge and entertaining at patio parties and lake adventures. She was a beautiful woman who will be remembered for her charming personality, delightful laugh and her passion for literature and poetry. A memorial service will be held at a later time when covid restrictions will be eased. A celebration of her life will occur in Door County in July with her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
