Donna M. Schramm

Donna Mae (Roland) Schramm, age 81, passed away unexpectedly at home from a medical condition on Friday, April 10, 2015. She was born on July 21, 1933, in Manawa, the daughter of Carl and Mary (Delo) Roland and was baptised, confirmed, and married at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at South Dupont. Donna graduated from Little Wolf High School in Manawa and was joined in marriage September 13, 1952, to Lester Schramm. Donna is survived by her beloved husband, Lester, her children, Richard (Barbara) Schramm and Kathleen (Steven) Guttman; grandsons, Evan and Andrew Schramm, sisters-in-law, Irma Prill and Joan Roland, as well as, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends especially life-long friends, Jean Costello and Stephanie Maas and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Ruth (Clarence) Bork and Marion (Harlan) Schley, and brother, Charles Roland. Donna was known for her love for her family. Every challenge she faced was met with her remarkable perseverance and strength. Her talent for baking and cooking delighted the palates of many. Donna also possessed a loving gift to care for children and volunteered her time nurturing children in her church family through work in Sunday School and church preschool. Donna was an administrative assistant at DePaul Hospital in Milwaukee, however, time spent with her family and friends filled her with joy. Donna worked side-by-side with Les on preserving the clean water of Lake Metonga, in Crandon, WI, while serving the Lake Metonga Association. The shores of Lake Metonga were the magical setting for wonderful times over the years. In the years to come, Lake Metonga will foster warm memories of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. A Memorial Visitation will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4419 South Howell Avenue in Milwaukee, WI, starting at 9:00 am, on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, with a Lutheran Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. This service will be followed by a light luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Lake Metonga Association at 4884 Strawberry Bluff Lane, Crandon, WI 54520.
