Nowakowski, Donald R. Found peace on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at age 81. Loving husband of the late Ada. Cherished Father of Tony Nowakowski, Scott (Tammy) Lichucki and Sue (Jim) Bartlett. Dear brother to Nancy and Diane. Proud grandpa to Michael (Lynn), Brian, Shelly (Matt), Don (Mandy) and Melissa (Mike). Great grandfather to Sam, Olivia and Kolton. Survived by many other family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Roman and Esther Nowakowski. Don proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Don was a dedicated retiree of Ladish Co. He enjoyed the Packers, auto racing, and Dixieland Jazz. The family would like to extend it's thanks to Dr. Daniel Donovan, Dr. Jack Manley, Dr. Charles Lanzarotti, Jeff Baranek P.A. and the many nurses and aides of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare for the skilled compassionate care they gave Don for many years. Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 1 PM until the time of service at 4 PM. Burial will take place on Monday at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery at 11AM with full Military Honors.
