Franzen, Donald R. Passed away October 28, 2015 very quickly at Vitas Ruth Hospice at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of the late MaryJane (nee Kittel) for 59 years. Loving father of Ronald (Dolores), Gary (Bonnie) and Mark (Jeanne). Dearest grandfather of Christopher, Brent and Justin. Preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Mae (nee Harmon) Franzen. Dear brother of William (Ellie) Franzen, the late Lona Franzen, the late Margaret (the late Stan) Hanish, the late Dorothy (the late Anthony) Schiro and the late Kay (the late William). Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation on Monday, November 2, 2015 at ST. ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH (1810 W. Bolivar Ave.) from 10am to 10:45am with the Funeral Mass at 11am. Entombment St. Adalbert Cemetery. Retiree of 39 years at Allen-Bradley, was a Grand Knight and honor guard of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degreeBishop Henni Assembly 1196. Despite his challenges of essential tremors, he pushed forward with being independent, continuing all activities including going to the gym and playing golf right up to the end. Special thank you to Vitas Ruth Hospice staff, and to Bonnie Anderson and Theresa Sidders his caregivers for all their help in maintaining Donald's independence. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Parkinson's Disease Foundation appreciated.
