Donald J. Voskuil

February 22, 1927 — October 9, 2009

Donald J. Voskuil passed away on Friday, October 9, 2009. He was born on February 22, 1927 in Cedar Grove, Wisconsin to Arthur and Alice (TenPas) Voskuil. Don was a 1949 graduate of UW-Madison majoring in Chemistry and taught at UW-SC until entering the US Army in 1950. He married Carolyn Hegard on August 11, 1956 in Batavia, Wisconsin. Don worked at PPG Industries in Milwaukee and Oak Creek for 37 years.. He was an active member of Calvary Community Church where he served on many committees. Don was known as a talented "fixer", helping everyone who knew him. He loved biking, hiking, listening to music (especially organ music), traveling and reading. His many activities also included years of driving for Meals on Wheels and donating blood. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, and their son, Tim. He is further survived by two sisters, Evelyn (Bill) Antonopaulos of Hartford and Marge (James) Killian of Houston, Texas, one sister-in-law, Ruth (late David) Voskuil of Sheboygan, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David.. A memorial service will be held on Friday October 16, 2009 at 3 pm at Calvary Community Church, 4895 S. Calhoun Road, New Berlin. Visitation will be held at the church from 1 pm until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established at Calvary Community Church or donations may be made to in his name to the Nature Conservancy. Max A.
