Wisniewski, Donald E. Age 88, of Middleton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, with his loving family by his side. Don was born on November 20, 1925, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of the late John and JoAnna (Inda) Wisniewski. After proudly serving his country in World War II as a member of the United States Marine Corps, he returned stateside and played major league baseball with the New York Giants. On May 7, 1949, he married the love of his life, his lovely bride, Loretta Hintz of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They would have celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary on May 7, 2014. Together they had three children, Gregory (Nancy), John (Maureen) Wisniewski and Linda (Donald) Robideau. He was blessed with seven grandchildren, Thomas Robideau, Leah Robideau, Donald Winiewski (deceased), Joshua Wisniewski, Patrick Robideau, Christopher Wisniewski and Matthew Wisniewski, and one great-grandchild, Madisen Robideau. Don was an only child, so his extended family, including his brother-in-laws, Kenneth Degnan and Kenneth Rehfeldt, cousins, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members meant everything to him. He will be dearly missed by one and all. Donald worked for Nestle's for 30 years. He was everyone's favorite go to guy for chocolate. He was very involved in his community, being one of the founding members of the Wilson Park Little League; on the Board for of the Polam Golf Charities Event, a former Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Marine Corps League-Badger Detachment. Two years ago he had the privilege of going on the Badger Honor Flight to Washington D.C. with his grandson, Thomas Robideau as his escort. A special thank you to the wonderful staff of Meriter Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin, who took such loving care of Don. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday April 28th at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (7933 S. 116th St.) Franklin, WI with Fr. Yvon Sheehy and Fr. Michael Burke a dear member of the family, presiding. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9 - 10:45 AM with the Mass to begin at 11 AM.
