Diane Lynn Jones

Diane Lynn Jones, a beacon of love and friendship, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on October 26, 1952, Diane's life was characterized by her unwavering kindness and the joy she brought to everyone she met.

 A proud graduate of Waukesha South High School, Class of 1971, Diane went on to dedicate much of her professional life to the community of Waukesha County as a Volunteer Coordinator. Her work wasn't just a job; it was a manifestation of her caring spirit, as she poured her heart into organizing and supporting those who gave their time for the betterment of others. 

Diane's love story with her beloved husband, Larry Jones, was one for the ages. Together, they shared countless adventures, with road trips along country roads, and stops at farm stands being among their favorite shared activities. Their journeys often included searching for the perfect old barns to photograph, a testament to Diane's appreciation for the beauty in simplicity and history. 

She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Erin Stair, and her son, the late Travis Stair. Her role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, and her guidance and love resonated in the lives of her children. Diane's legacy continued through her adored grandchildren, Ciara and Tyler Stair, Travis Stair Jr., Stephan Muñiz, and great-grandson, Graysen D’Amato. Each of them were a source of immense pride and joy, and she relished every moment spent with them.

 Diane's brother, Jeff Whittaker, shared a special bond with her, rooted in a lifetime of shared memories and an unspoken understanding that only siblings know. Their relationship was a testament to Diane's capacity for enduring friendships and familial love. 

An artisan at heart, Diane found pleasure in crafting, a hobby that allowed her to express her creativity and love for beauty. Her crafts were more than just items; they were pieces of her heart that she shared with the world. Diane's enthusiasm for giving was unmatched, as she loved giving gifts and sending goodie bags to brighten someone's day, always thinking of others before herself.

 Fall was Diane's favorite season, a time of year that seemed to perfectly encapsulate her essence with its vibrant colors and the sense of warmth despite the cooling temperatures. It was during these autumn months that her spirit shone the brightest, as she celebrated the season with her thoughtful gestures and heartfelt engagement with those around her. 

The words that best describe Diane are loving, thoughtful, and friendly. She never met a stranger, only friends she hadn't yet made. Her presence in a room was a source of comfort and joy, and her ability to listen and genuinely care made her a cherished confidante to many. 

Diane's impact on the world was as profound as it was gentle. Through her everyday actions and the relationships, she nurtured, she taught those around her the importance of kindness, the joy of sharing, and the beauty of a life well-lived. 

As we say goodbye to Diane Lynn Jones, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the countless lives she touched with her generous spirit. While she may no longer be with us in body, her legacy of love, friendship, and community service will continue to inspire and guide us. Diane's light will never dim, for it lives on in the memories we hold dear and the love she spread so freely. 

Her family takes comfort in knowing that she lived a full and beautiful life and that her spirit is reunited with her son, Travis. Diane Lynn Jones will be deeply missed, but her warmth, her smile, and her loving heart will be remembered always.
