Dennis F Kohn

Kohn, Dennis F. Beloved husband and father, went to his eternal rest suddenly on December 2, 2014. He was born in Milwaukee on July 8, 1946 to the late Gilbert and Pearl (nee Rosean) Kohn and Graduated from Pulaski High School in 1964. He graduated from MATC with an Associate Degree in Criminal Science. Dennis proudly served as a Marine in Vietnam, arriving in Da Nang in 1965 just as the war began to escalate. He would later continue his service as a respected rifle instructor and Marine Corps Boxer, sparring with future heavyweight champion Ken Norton. He was also an umpire and referee for adult recreation leagues. After his Honorable discharge he would go on to serve the people of Milwaukee as a police officer before taking the same position in Sturgis, MI. returning to Milwaukee in 1981. He would spend 22 years with the US Postal service as a mail handler and aggressively represented the rights of his co-workers as a union steward. He was a member of Charles Fiedler Post #9469, the DAV and American Legion Post. Dennis is survived by Louise (nee Kotowski, DiChristoper), His wife of 24 years, Sons Michael (Lisa) and Robert (Beret), Daughter Melissa "Lisa" (Daniel) Slapczynski and stepdaughter Jane (DiChristopher) (Daniel) Stoltz. He was the honored grandfather of Matthew, Samantha, Kathleen, Joseph and Danielle Kohn; Ethan Kohn; Grace, Olivia, Parker and Lauren Slapczynski; and Sofia DiChristopher McBriarty and Amanda and Alexander Stoltz. Further survived by brothers Jeffrey, James, Bruce, Timothy, many nieces, nephews and friends and neighbors. Visitation at Max Sass Funeral Home, Greenridge Chapel, on Monday, December 8, 4-7pm. Funeral service at 7pm. Burial at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery 21731 Spring Street Union Grove, WI, on Tuesday December 9 at 11am. Please meet at the cemetery office. Max A.
