Horton, David Lee "Hook" Found peace on January 5, 2015 at the age of 73. Husband of Olga. Loving dad of Shawn (Rachel) Horton. Dear brother of Chuck (Joan) and Jack (Kathy) Horton. Dear friend of Sharon (Dan) Kolinski and Mary (Mark) Carstensen. Stepfather of Nikki and Tina (Steve). Dave will be missed by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and former students. A celebration of David's life will be held on Saturday January 10, 2015 from 10 am until 1:30 pm with a service at 1:30 pm at the Max A. Sass & Sons Mission Hills Chapel. Hook was an accomplished basketball player, teacher and a coach for 40 years. His outstanding high school career was highlighted by playing in the 1957 and 1959 state basketball tournament and was named to the all-state team in 1959. Dave was inducted into the UW-Platteville Hall of Fame in 1988 and holds the record for points scored in a single game (41) and held the record for points scored in a season for many years. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Tracy and the staffs of VITAS Hospice and ResCare HomeCare for all the loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be used to benefit Franklin Athletics.
