Wick, David J. Born to Eternal Life March 2, 2020 at the age of 84. Loving husband of Bonnie (Wudtke) Wick. Father of Heidi, Elizabeth, Gretchen, Martha, Sarah and Kate. Dear brother of Mary (William) Scherkenbach, Judith (James) Wenders and the late Ruth Mihelich. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Dave graduated from Marquette High School and Marquette University where he completed his Accounting Degree. He was an accountant for the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young and other accounting firms: then started his own DJWICK & CO practice. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in 1955 stationed at Ft. Sheridan, IL and then stationed overseas in Austria and Germany. He loved traveling with Bonnie and he took her to visit these beautiful countries. They explored his heritage in Austria and Germany. David was a devout Catholic, He was an alter boy when he was young and later served Mass with the Chaplains in the US Army and on the ship on his way to Europe. He is a member of Divine Mercy parish in South Milwaukee and they loved being greeters and welcoming Parishioners. Dave was a member of the Austrian American Society and enjoyed their cultural events. They hosted a family from Austria who were members of a Tyrolean Band and they became close friends. They made many trips to Hall in Tirol near Innsbruck Austria to visit them while vacationing in Europe. Dave loved to dance and they attended many balls in Milwaukee and Chicago, but the highlight was when they attended the New Year's Eve Gala in Vienna and Waltzed the night away! Dave Loved golfing and boating on Lake Michigan. They spent many days fishing for Salmon and leisurely enjoyed being on the water. He also enjoyed being with his family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Autumn Leaves Memory Care facility for all their care given to Dave. A visitation will be held at Divine Mercy Catholic Church (800 Marquette Ave., South Milw.) on Saturday March 14, 2020 from 9 - 10:45 AM with the Funeral Mass to begin at 11 AM. Private interment Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. "Dave will be missed by all who knew him"
