Spiess, David J. In loving memory of David J. Spiess who passed away Sunday January 28, 2018 one week prior to his 89th birthday. Dave was first and foremost, loving husband to Peg (Margaret Louise) and devoted family man with an incredibly positive attitude right up to his final days. He was married to Peg for 67 years and together they had 5 children; Jim (Jean), Jean (Bill Schuster), Ron (Aurora), Mary (Dan Polaris), Rick (Linda), 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He worked as sheet metal foreman for MMSD where he was recognized for his inventions to improve filtration processes for Milwaukee. He also carried on his fathers business in partnership with Peg and his sons, manufacturing striping machines and providing machining support to his clients. He created fun loving memories with Sunday family days and car trips to Florida. Always looking for the best approach, he earned the nickname Safety Dave. A dedicated member of South Shore Yacht Club, Dave passed on his love and knowledge of boating to his family and friends, taking many adventuresome cruises throughout the great lakes, rivers and intercoastal waters with Peg always as his first mate and his children as crew. Preceded in death by sisters Helen, RuthAnn, brothers Robert and Donald and daughter-in-law Lynn. In addition to his immediate family he is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial gathering on Saturday, February 3rd, from 9:00am - 11:00am, with a memorial mass at 11:00am at St. Gregory the Great Parish, 3160 S. 63rd St., Milwaukee.
