David J. Mckendrey

McKendrey, David J. Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on September 14, 2008 at the age of 71 years. Loving husband of Darcy (nee Roanhaus). Dear brother of Mary Alice Mullaney of Shullsburg, WI, Patricia (the late Floyd) Lasser of Naples, FL and Jane (Ron) Pole of Shullsburg, WI. Fond stepfather of Mark (Annette) Rhode. Grandpa of Autumn and Tristen. Further survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mass of Christian Burial Friday 10 am at St. Stephen Church (5880 S. Howell Ave.). Family and friends will meet directly at church on Friday for mass. Visitation Thursday 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Private entombment Wisconsin Memorial Park. Dave was a lifelong employee of Milwaukee Cylinder in Cudahy. He started his career as a young man in 1958 and through hard work, loyalty and dedication retired as president in 1997. During his many years at Milwaukee Cylinder Dave formed many friendships which lasted his entire life. He referred to many of his longtime employees as his "Cylinder family". Dave served his country in the 128th Tactical Control Flight Unit, Wisconsin Air National Guard. Dave was a past officer and director of the National Fluid Power Association and was a longstanding member of Tuckaway Country Club. Dave's wife and family would like to thank his doctors, nurses and the Franklin Fire Department for all of their compassion and care during Dave's illness. For those who prefer, in lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in David's name.
