David F. Sands, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on October 19, 1941, to the late Harley and Sylvia (Caprioli) Sands in Milwaukee, WI. David was a devoted husband to his late wife, Judy, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage until her passing in 2019. Their family would grow to include their children Jackie Sands, John Sands (Late wife Trish), Michael (Susan) Sands, and Dawn (Mark) Bourgeois, as well as a legacy of grandchildren: Amanda (Ryan) McRae, Kayla Sands, Christopher (Dianna) Richards, Samantha (Tommy) Crosby, Justin (Amber) Sands, Brittany (Adam) Gonzalez, Lindsay Sands (Hunter McManus), Konrad Schmitt, and Elise (Aaron) Tajnai. The family circle expanded with the joy of 9 great-grandchildren, with another on the way in September. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. David is survived by his brother James (Renee) Sands and was preceded in death by his sister Sherry (Gary) DeLange.

David's work as a truck driver was more than a job; it was a lifetime of stories and friendships until his retirement in 2011. Outside of work, David's interests were a reflection of a man who cherished the simple joys of life. He was an avid movie watcher, a strategic cribbage player, and an enthusiast of dining out. Not only did he relish these pastimes, but he also had a talent for sausage making, a skill that he shared with his father and brother that delighted family and friends. Bowling was another of David's favorite activities. Sundays were a special time for David, often marked by the tradition of sharing ham and rolls with family. David enlisted in the US Army and served his country in the late 60's before his honorable discharge.
