Leonard, David Anthony Entered into the gates of heaven on July 19, 2013 at the age of 62 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband to Debra (Nee Ball) of 32 years, adoring father to Nicholas and Kathryn (Michael) Jelacic, and proud grandfather to his "little boy" Jackson. David was preceded in death by his parents Joan Miller and Leroy Leonard. He is survived by two loving sisters Laura (John) Leonard and Susan Nolan along with many nieces, nephews and countless friends. David was a proud member of the Air Force for 4 years and served in Vietnam. He went on to become a carpenter and eventually a Building Inspector for the City of Milwaukee where he retired from just 3 short years ago. He loved the outdoors and was very fond of fishing and hunting. His sense of humor made him who he was. He was the "glue" that bonded so many together and his loss will leave great sadness among all those who loved him dearly. The fight he put up against his cancer was both honorable and admirable. He always said he was "strong as a bull" and he proved that he was indeed, even in his death. May you rest in peace dear husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. Until we meet again we will honor your legacy and treasure your memory. We love you. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Qamar for her dedication and determination in helping David to battle his cancer, he thought the world of you and his family does as well. We would like to thank the staff of 12S at St. Luke's Medical Center for your loving and compassionate care of both David and his family during the last week of his life. We are forever grateful for you all. Visitation will be in the Funeral Home on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 4 to 7 PM with a eulogy service to be held at 7 PM. Additional visitation will in ST.
