Daniel J. Mattson

Mattson, Daniel J. Beloved son of Jean Mattson (David Miller) Greendale and John Lacey (Jule) Wauwatosa, brother of Tess, Mary and Joey Lacey. Also survived by two loving Grandmothers, Betty J. Lacey of Waupaca and Ann Shingleton (Damon) of Citrus Springs Florida and other extended family members. Preceded in death by Grandparents Richard Mattson and Raymond Lacey, Mary Jane and John Rozwadowski (Jule), William and Rosemary Jean Miller (David). Graduate of Greendale High School 2002 and University of Wisconsin-Madison 2007, passed unexpectedly on July 25, 2009. Dan was a member of the Greendale Cross Country, Basketball and Track teams earning six varsity letters, and a Member of the 2002 National Honor Society. His love of Meteorology led him to a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Climatology in 2007. After Graduation Dan stayed in Madison and was starting a career with Copps Food Center. Dan was an avid sports fan, 'Once a Badger Always a Badger'. He would talk for hours with his friend Matt Majszak about the Brewers, Badgers, Packers and any other sports event on the globe. His love of Pizza was legendary. Visitation Thursday 4-8 PM and thereafter Friday 9:30-11 AM at the Max A. Sass & Sons Greenridge Chapel. Funeral service Friday 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment Good Hope Cemetery. Dan would have been 26 on August 5th, and died of complications from a childhood medical condition. The family would like to thank all of his co-workers and managers at Copps for helping him get started in the working world, and all of the individuals at Froedtert Hospital Emergency for their extraordinary care.
