Daniel R. Holtz

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel R. Holtz, affectionately known as "Danny," who departed this life on December 27, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born on October 25, 1963, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Daniel was a beacon of strength and humor, whose strong-willed nature found delight in the simple joys of teasing his sisters, diving into high-spirited shenanigans with his brother and cousins, and imbibing laughter into the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

Danny dedicated a significant chapter of his life to serving in the United States Air Force as a flight engineer flying C-130 aircrafts. He embodied the utmost principles of honor and resilience. His commitment to protect and serve his country was born out of a genuine passion for duty, showcasing qualities that resonated throughout his career and endeared him to peers and friends alike.

At the beginning of his military career, Daniel’s industrious spirit led him to further his education at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, emerging with knowledge that would benefit not only his career but his family and community. He was a nurturer at heart, always encouraging his children and family members to delve into their own dreams and aspirations.

Daniel embraced the roles of husband, father, and grandfather passionately. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sandra (nee Goetsch) Holtz, who stood steadfastly by his side through life's trials. His legacy is perpetuated by his devoted children, Crystal (Lorenzo) Banda and Andrew (Amanda) Holtz, both of whom carry forward his teachings and spirit. The warmth Danny brought to the world further lives on in his granddaughters, Isabella Banda and Sabrina Holtz, who knew him as a source of unconditional love and guidance.

He is also mourned by his siblings, Pamela (Francis) Beres, William (Gina) Holtz and Lana (Jasyn) Meyers, with whom he shared bonds that he cherished deeply. Their memories together will forever echo with laughter and shared experiences, underscoring the essence of family that Danny valued most.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Vernell Holtz, who were integral pillars in shaping the man he would become.

In honor of this remarkable soul, a visitation will be held on January 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, located at S66 W14325 Janesville Road, Muskego, Wisconsin. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM, (Livestream link https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/daniel-holtz ), with interment taking place at 2:00 PM at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St, Union Grove, Wisconsin.

Daniel R. Holtz's life was a mosaic of dedication, humor, and genuine affection for those around him. As we gather to pay our respects, let us celebrate the life of a man whose heart was as vast as his spirit, and whose legacy will endure in the hearts of all who loved him.
