Daniel “Dan” F. Klieve, 62, of Greendale, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, March 9th, 2024.
Dan was born on December 21st, 1961 to Otto and Joan Klieve in Ohio. After Dan graduated from Greendale High School in 1980, he went on to work at Oilgear as a Research and Development Laboratory Technician while studying Fluid Power at Milwaukee Area Technical College. After he graduated, he continued to work his way up in the company ending his time there as a Customer Assistance Technical Representative. After Oilgear moved headquarters, Dan started work at Grimstad as a Technical Services Specialist continuing to share his passion and deep knowledge of fluid power.
He had many passions, one of the biggest being fishing at the family cottage on Black Oak Lake. That passion grew into a small business of his own, Black Oak Custom Rods, where he created custom fishing rods for friends and family based off their interests and ideas. Dan also found joy in cooking, specifically for other people, this could be seen in his annual office Christmas cookie bouquet, paczki delivery and other spontaneous culinary delights. He had an abiding faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, which showed in the way he loved others. If you knew Dan, you loved him, because he loved you.
His love will continue to touch others’ lives through his two children, Katelyn and Justin. He believed raising them to be solid human beings, grounded in the Christian faith was his greatest accomplishment.
Dan is survived by his two children, Katelyn and Justin; his parents Otto and Joan Klieve; his siblings, John (Charlotte) Klieve, Patricia (Brian) Rebholz; his sister-in-law Jane Klieve; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Klieve.
