Dale Robert Gordon found peace with his Heavenly Father on his 59th Birthday, November 30th, 2024. As much as it saddens us that Dale is no longer with us, we find solace in knowing that he is now eternally blessed and joyful in Christ. He is whole and his happiness is unceasing.
Dale was born and raised in Greendale, Wisconsin, and was the seventh and youngest child to Keith and Nancy Gordon. Dale graduated from Greendale High School in 1983. He was a friendly, happy, and adventurous person who loved the outdoors and always had a joke to tell. In early adulthood, Dale ventured to Islamorada in the Florida Keys, where he worked on the Miss Tradewinds Fishing Charter as a first mate. Dale’s love for the water, being barefoot and bare-chested definitely is a testimony of his individual spirit and eccentric personality.
Dale returned to Wisconsin and spent the rest of his working years as a concrete finisher as a part of Wisconsin’s Local 599 Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons. Dale took great pride in his work and his craft and proudly retired in 2020.
Dale married and had three children whom he loved, adored, and instilled his faith and love of the Lord Jesus Christ. He loved to spend time with his family at their lake cottage in Wautoma, Wisconsin. He also loved to cook, tell stories, make people laugh, and entertain. You could find Dale in his yard having a fire just about any day of the week.
Dale’s life journey was heavily marked by his profound faith. An unwavering believer in Jesus Christ, he made sure that he shared the depth of his belief to all he met and knew. From the braided fish hanging above his side porch of his house to the tattooed cross on his back, he was proud to say loudly that Jesus Christ was his savior. His connection to God was a light that shone not only for himself, but for all those that have encountered him, reminding others that Earth is just a small part in the rest of God’s glorious plan. One of Dale’s favorite Bible verses was Ephesians 2:8, “For by grace you have been saved through faith– and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, so that no one can boast.”
Dale leaves behind his three children, Sarah Grace Gordon of Edmonds, Washington, Joseph Robert Gordon of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and Hannah Elisabeth Gordon of San Antonio, Texas, his dog Bentley, his six siblings, and many, many family and friends.
Dale’s children would like to thank everyone who supported and loved Dale through his illness and hardships. They invite you to join them to remember and celebrate his life.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 11th at 3 pm at Grace Community Church, located at 8400 Beloit Rd, West Allis, WI 53227.
Rest in peace, Dad, We will love and miss you always. You will forever be in our hearts and your spirit will never fade.
