Corinne L. Baas

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will—to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the one He loves” (Ephesians 1:3-7).

As part of God’s plan for her eternal election, Corinne Baas was born to Arnold and Gertrude Baas on October 4, 1942 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. God kept His promise and adopted her into His family by means of the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Muskego, Wisconsin on November 8, 1942. After being instructed in the fundamentals of the Christian faith, she proclaimed the Triune God as her Savior-God and confirmed her Christian faith at St. Paul’s, Muskego on March 25, 1956. By the grace of God, Corinne vowed to remain true to her Lord and His Word until death, a promise the Spirit empowered her to keep all her life.

Corinne is survived by Kathleen Baas, twin sister; Sandra Baas (Ronald), former sister-in-law; Ann Sanford (Marshall) niece; Amy Heniff, III (Ray) niece; and Megan Hebert (Travis), Kristen Gelhaus, Allison, Casey and Mason Heniff, great-nieces and great-nephew; cousins and other relatives and friends. Parents, Gertrude Baas and Arnold Baas, and brother Ronald Baas preceded her in death.

Above all, Corinne treasured and valued the lives of all animals and would not tolerate any type of animal cruelty. She had a passion for gardening and helped keep their homestead looking like a country club. Corinne had an artistic talent for drawing and water coloring. She enjoyed creating greeting cards for family and friends for all occasions. Corinne and her twin sister, Kathleen, hosted numerous gatherings, where she loved entertaining and cooking a variety of different recipes. Following graduation from Muskego High School 1960, Corinne worked with her twin sister at Time Insurance (a/k/a Fortis and Assurant) in Milwaukee performing clerical and

secretarial work for 45 years, until their retirement in 2005.

In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation in Corinne’s honor to the Wisconsin Humane Society. Donations may be made online at www.wihumane.org or 4500 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53208.

The Lord kept Corinne in His family by leading her to be faithful in her use of the means of grace, that is, His Word and sacraments, until July of this year, when she was lovingly placed into Hales Corners Care Center due to her struggle with cancer, where she was ministered to by her pastor. On Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the age of 81 years, 10 months, and 20 days, her soul was carried by God’s holy angel to live with her Savior, Jesus, into all eternity.
