Beloved child of God, Colleen S. Larmay, has been called home by our Heavenly Father. Born on the fifteenth day of October in the year of our Lord 1946, in the bustling city of Milwaukee, she was a beacon of love and devotion. On the twenty-seventh day of June, 2023, she peacefully transitioned into eternal rest in the quaint town of Wind Lake, Wisconsin. Her departure, though sorrowful, was as she lived, quiet and serene, for she left us naturally, as a gentle whisper in the wind.
Colleen, a woman of substance, was a precious jewel to her family and community. She was the beloved wife of Dan Larmay for a blissful 46 years. She was a loving mother to her late children, Jill Kalivoda and Scott Januchowski, and her stepson, Brian Larmay. She was an adoring grandmother to "CJ" and Taryn, and a great-grandmother to little Willow. Her legacy of love and devotion to family is a testament to the kind of woman she was.
A proud alumnus of Pulaski High School, Colleen was a hardworking and dedicated woman. She spent many years serving her community through her work in food service at MPS, where she was a familiar and comforting presence. Her dedication to her work was a manifestation of her love for service and her unwavering commitment to her community.
Colleen was a woman of many interests, her life enriched by the simple pleasures that brought her joy. She found solace in the pages of a good book, losing herself in the tales spun by the authors she loved. Her fingers danced on the threads as she knitted, creating masterpieces that were a testament to her patience and skill. Above all, she cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren, her love for them evident in every shared moment and memory.
In the spirit of a southern preacher, we celebrate Colleen’s life, not with sadness, but with joy and gratitude. For in the book of Ecclesiastes, it is written, "A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth." Colleen’s name, indeed, was like precious ointment poured out, a fragrant aroma that filled the lives of those who knew her. Her life was a testament of love, service, and devotion, a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of her loved ones.
As we bid farewell to our dear Colleen, let us remember that she has not left us, but has simply gone ahead, to prepare a place for us in our Heavenly Father’s house. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her. We thank the Lord for the blessing of her life and the privilege of sharing in her journey.
In the immortal words of the Apostle Paul, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." And so, Colleen has. She ran her race with grace, fought her battles with courage, and kept her faith steadfast. Today, we celebrate her triumphant entry into the kingdom of Heaven, where she is undoubtedly welcomed with the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Colleen S. Larmay, a woman of faith, a beacon of love, a treasured jewel. Her life was a melody of love and devotion, and her memory will forever be a sweet refrain in our hearts. Rest now, dear Colleen, in the arms of your Savior. Until we meet again.
