Clyde R Fredenburgh

January 2, 1932 — March 21, 2018

Clyde Richard Fredenburgh, resident of Franklin, WI, formerly of Riverside, CA, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2018 at his son and daughter-in-laws home at the age of 86 years. Born January 2, 1932 in Riverside, California to Charles and Lois Fredenburgh, Clyde was the elder brother of Sharon. Clyde resided in Riverside for over 85 years. Clyde briefly left California to serve as a firefighter and crash rescue airman in the United States Air Force. During the Korean War, Clyde was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and George Air Force Base. After being kicked out because they told me I was too tall to be in the Air Force, Clyde, who was 66, returned to Riverside where he would meet and marry Audrey Mollard (55) on April 7, 1956. Clyde found work as a Steel Worker, and concluded his working life at Consolidated Electrical Distributors. Clyde was best known for his quick wit, kindness, and whistling while he worked. A sports fan, Clyde loved golf, basketball, trout fishing, and poker. Though Clyde was a native Californian who never thought of leaving again, Clyde finally left in September 2017 to be cared for by his Wisconsin family, where he was treated to a true fall season, kids events, sporting events, holidays, family dinners and crisp Midwest air which helped him breathe easier at the end of his life. Together, Clyde and Audrey are survived by their three children, Wayne (Judy) Fredenburgh, Janet (Mike) Noordman, and Jim Fredenburgh. Clyde will be fondly remembered by his three grandchildren, Sandy (Scott) Fredenburgh Whitman, Lisa (Chris) Buller and Brian (Amy) Fredenburgh, and 14 great-grandchildren, and countless cousins. He will be missed by his best friend and partner, Margaret Moses, her children Jeff (Rebecca) Moses, Shelley (Dave) Johanson, Debbie Moses, Dan (Traci) Moses, Bill (Josie) Moses, and her six grandchildren. Clyde is survived by his sister-in-law Margaret (Steve) Yates of England. A Celebration of Clydes life will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 2:00pm, located at 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518 Memorial donations for Clyde in lieu of flowers, may be made to the USO, PO Box 96860 Washington, DC or www.uso.org.
