Clifford "Cliff" Mielke

January 14, 1948 — March 23, 2024

Clifford Lawrence Mielke, known affectionately as Cliff, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the age of 76. Born on January 14, 1948, in Osceola, Wisconsin, to parents Arthur Mielke Sr. and Darlene Mielke nee Bohlman, he was a cherished member of his family and community.

Cliff was a proud graduate of Campbellsport High School, class of 1966. His dedication to service led him to a distinguished career as a Civil Engineer in the Air Force, where he bravely served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Cliff pursued his passion for helping others by obtaining a certification for Nursing Home Administration. His professional journey in healthcare spanned over four decades, where he notably worked for the VA and later joined Vitas, dedicating over 17 years as a compassionate Patient Care Secretary before retiring in 2021.

Throughout his life, Cliff was known for his loving, generous, and kind nature. He was a man of many interests and talents. For over two decades, he raised German Shepherds, a breed he admired for their loyalty and intelligence, until he moved to a home in Oak Creek. There, he transitioned his passion to welcome a smaller, yet equally loved beagle mix named Cooper into his life, who became his beloved companion. His love for dance led him to become not only a student but also a dance instructor at Fred Astaire Dance Studios. Cliff graced the stage with his performances at the Performing Arts Center in Milwaukee, sharing his joy of dance with many. In his quieter moments, he could often be found immersed in crossword puzzles or baking delicious treats for friends and family.

Cliff's family was the cornerstone of his life. Though preceded in death by his father Arthur Mielke Sr., mother Darlene, sister Beverly, brothers Donald and Art, and nephew Jeff, he leaves behind a legacy of love and memories. He is survived by his daughter, Tracy, five nieces and nephews, including Cassie, with whom he shared an extraordinary bond, and eleven great-nieces and nephews.

Cliff's absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. His ability to bring warmth and happiness to those around him was unmatched. His generosity extended not only to his family but to all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him. Cliff's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the impact one individual can have on the lives of many.

As we bid farewell to Cliff, we celebrate a life lived with purpose, love, and a touch of grace. His story does not end with his passing but continues in the hearts of those he touched. We honor Cliff's memory by holding dear the moments we shared and the unwavering compassion he exemplified throughout his remarkable journey.
