Clarence J. Nowicki

Nowicki, Clarence Age 82 years. Born to Eternal Life on February 18, 2009. Beloved husband of Esther. Loving father of Jill (Brad) Cooley, Mary Lynn (Richard) Kilgust, Patricia (Thomas) Engel and Lisa (Curtis) Matheny. Proud grandfather of Anne, Sean, Peter, Jack, Beth, Laura, Jenna, Megan, and Matt. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Funeral service Monday 9:30 am from the Max A.Sass & Sons Mission Hills Chapel to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (7963 S. 116th St.). for mass at 10 am. Private interment. Visitation Sunday 2-5 PM at the funeral home. Clarence graduated from Pulaski High School in 1945 and UW-Madison with a business degree in 1951. Nowicki True Value Hardware was his lifelong career and passion. Clarence worked with his father and brother at the original store on 12th and Harrison in Milwaukee. Over time he opened additional stores in St. Francis and New Berlin. Clarence was a member of the Delta Sigma Pi fraternity and a long time member and past president of the South Side Business Club and Lake Lions Club. He received the Melvin Jones Fellow award for humanitarian services from the Lions Club International Foundation. Clarence was an excellent dancer and enjoyed golfing, traveling, gardening and being with his family. He was a wonderful, actually the best, husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin of Tours or the charity of your choice.
