Cherie Lynn Marie Popodi, a beacon of love and creativity, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on March 16, 1945, in Milwaukee, WI to Hugo and Dolores Pares. She was a loving sister to the late Lisa Dolski and Scott (Linda) Pares. Cherie's life was a tapestry of vibrant colors woven with the threads of her passions and the love of her family.
Cherie graduated from Greenfield High School in 1963. Her professional journey as a Master Barber allowed her to touch the lives of many, offering not just a haircut but a warm conversation and a listening ear. Her involvement in various associations furthered her connections within the community, where she was known for her spirited nature and willingness to lend a helping hand.
Cherie's artistic soul found its true expression in painting and drawing, following in the footsteps of her gifted parents. Her artwork was more than a hobby; it was an extension of her very essence. Her love for art was matched only by her love for all living creatures, from the majestic horses she adored to the tiniest of animals whose beauty she could see and appreciate. Cherie's deep faith in God was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through every brushstroke and every encounter with those around her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Karl Popodi, and a loving family that includes her children, Stephanie (Jeff) Colgan, the late Nicole Pippenger, Paul (Lisa) Scott, Andera (Mike) Neldner, Lori (Curt) Popodi. Cherie's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Simon Scott, Emanuel Patton, Jeremy Patton, Joshua Scott, Cody (Cassandra) Reinhardt, Danielle Stroika, Paul (Lisa) Scott, Jessica Casper, and six great-grandchildren, Ronan Scott, Fiona Scott, Jace Casper, Kira Starkey, Octavia Reinhardt, and Malcolm Reinhardt, who will carry forward her artistic talent and faith-filled spirit.
Those who knew Cherie will remember her as a loving soul who could find joy in the simplest of things. She was a confidante to many, trusted with secrets and always offering wisdom and comfort. Her presence was a source of strength and inspiration, and her memory will continue to guide and uplift those she has left behind.
As we say goodbye to Cherie Lynn Marie Popodi, we celebrate a life lived with passion and purpose. Her spirit, so deeply intertwined with the beauty of the world and the love of her family, will never be forgotten.
