Charles "Chuck" "Zeno" Sawicki

July 4, 1950 — April 28, 2024

Charles A. Sawicki, affectionately known as Chuck or Zeno, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2024, in Mequon, WI, at the age of 73. Born on Independence Day in 1950, in Milwaukee, WI, Chuck embodied the spirit of freedom and fun throughout his life. His early years were spent in Milwaukee, where he attended St. Augustine Grade School and graduated from Don Bosco High School in 1968. He furthered his education by attending the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.


Chuck dedicated 29 years of service to Milwaukee County Parks before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment to his community. His work ethic and friendly demeanor made him not only a respected colleague but also a cherished friend to many.


An avid softball player, Chuck's passion for sports was evident both on and off the field. He not only played the game with enthusiasm but also coached and managed softball teams. His competitive spirit was matched by the camaraderie he shared with his teammates.


Chuck was a devoted fan of the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers. Beyond sports, Chuck enjoyed the warmth of First Friday gatherings with friends, where laughter and stories were shared. Summers at Okauchee Lake with friends were especially dear to him. He met his future wife while vacationing there.


Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 29 years, Mary (Franz) Sawicki. Together, they shared a life filled with love and laughter. Besides Mary, Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Zenon and Sylvia (Krzwina) Sawicki.


He is survived by a loving family, including his beloved sister Barbara (Paul) Behrndt, nephews James (Krista) Behrndt and Eric Marschke, nieces Pamela Larson, Diane (Brian) Kita, Kris (David) Huebner, Laura Marschke, and sister-in-law Connie (Jeff) Marschke.


Chuck's departure leaves a void in the hearts of his friends and relatives, who will miss his humor and generous spirit. His life was a testament to the value of family and friendship.
