Catherine "Kay" Effinger

Effinger, Catherine "Kay" (Nee Minter). Kay was reunited with her beloved husband Robert "Bob" of 52 years on March 6, 2018 at age 85. Loving mother of Carolyn (Tim) Pelzek, Rick (Leanne), Randy (Sandy), Bob (Karen), Rod (Carrie), Suellyn (Dale) Wittlieff and Reg. Cherished grandma of 12 and great-grandma of 16. Dear sister of Clete (Annette) Minter. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers Norb and Tom and sister Sharon. Further survived by loved relatives and friends. Kay brailled for the Volunteer Services for the Blind, she loved to see the country with Bob on their Harley and enjoyed spending time at the Tree Farm. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed. The family extends special thanks to the staff of Layton Terrace and VITAS hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Kay. Visitation will be held at ST. MATTHIAS CATHOLIC CHURCH (9306 W. Beloit Rd., Milwaukee) on Saturday, March 10 from 9-10:45AM. Funeral Mass at 11AM. Entombment to follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery (please meet at the 6th street entrance). Per Kay's request, please no flowers. Memorials may be made to St. Matthias Parish.
