Carroll Dahms passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the age of 85.
Carroll was married to her high-school sweetheart Terry for 63 years until he passed away in 2018.
Carroll lived her life taking care of her husband and her four children, Randy Dahms (Luci Skala), Kevin
(Charlene) Dahms, Carrie (Brad) Garland, Shari (late Harold) Dahms-Sande. Proud grandma to Jessica
Dahms, Amanda (Matthew) Dahms, Brenda (Josh) Heinecke, Jacob (Lindsay) Dahms, Heather (Matthew)
Bergmann, and Ryan (Kayla) Dahms. Great grandma to Hayleigh, Toby, Stella, Emelina, Sophia, and
Mack. Carroll was preceded in death by her parents Roman and Juanita Olszewski and brothers Roger
and Gregory.
Carroll was a very caring and generous soul. She was artistic and crafty. She loved sewing, painting,
ceramics, beading, card making and all sorts of crafts. In her later years she made placemats for every
season and holiday. Carroll continued her card making until she got sick earlier this year. She would
spend time each day playing Words with Friends. Throughout the years she really enjoyed gardening
along-side her husband. Carroll and Terry spent many years camping and made many friends. Carroll
loved being outside watching and listening to the birds. Back in the day Carroll would spend time coffee
clutching with her neighbor friends Ann, Theola and Shirley. After Terry passed away Carroll still lived
near Shirley. They loved to get together and enjoy ice cream sundaes. Shirley continued to visit Carroll
to this day. They would spend time looking at their wedding photos, reminiscing of the older days and
still enjoying ice cream. When her children would visit Carroll would ask for hamburgers and ice cream.
She really cherished the time she got to spend with her great grandchildren. They brought her so much
joy. She will be missed by many.
God looked around His garden and He found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and
saw Carroll’s tired face. He put His arms around her and lifted her to rest. God’s garden must be
beautiful and He always takes the best. He knew that she was suffering. He knew she was in pain. He
knew that she would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough and the hills
were hard to climb. So He closed her weary eyelids and whispered, “Peace be thine.” It broke our hearts
to lose you. But you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons-Greenridge Chapel on Thursday, December 29,
2022 starting at 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. There will be a small
