Caroline Kobb passed peacefully into eternal life on March 8, 2025 at the age of 90 after a long and fulfilling life. Caroline was born to Aloysius and Hildegarde Ryczek on Nov. 10, 1934. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Ralph. She is survived by beloved children: Timothy (Joan), Gregory, Lauren (James), and Jennifer (Nick). She is survived by beloved grandchildren: Nathan (Arantxa), Olivia, and Aiden. She is also survived by beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
Caroline spent her childhood in Milwaukee beating the boys in running, sewing clothes for her dolls, going to Borchert Field to see the Braves play baseball, and listening to her favorite opera singers. She studied piano and voice at Alverno College where she learned leadership skills that she used in promoting the performing arts, especially ballet. She first worked as an elementary school teacher and later as a realtor for more than twenty years.
She met her beloved husband Ralph at 16 years old at a soda shop. Together they lovingly raised four children, traveled throughout the United States camping and visiting museums, and enjoyed season tickets to many of the performing arts in Milwaukee.
It was very easy to make Caroline happy. She was always grateful for simple things: talking with a loved one, seeing a beautiful sky, sitting on her front porch bench with her parrots Baby Bird and Zoey, feeding raisins to the robins at her back door, or receiving a hug or a back scratch.
She enjoyed cooking nutritious meals with many vegetables and fruits, observing the birds outside, gardening flowers, listening to music, reading the newspaper, watching PBS mysteries, and talking on the phone.
We will miss her lasagna and apple pies, her prayers, her easy laugh, her telling us to ask our guardian angels to keep us safe driving, and her remarkably beautiful singing voice.
She was a woman of strong faith and a devout member of St. James Church in Franklin. She said the rosary almost every day, prayed every night for a long list of people, and noticed God’s work in the everyday aspects of life.
Although Caroline is gone, she will live in our hearts forever
