Steidl (Voss), Carol Joan passed away at the age of 93 on November 30, 2024, surrounded by her family whom she loved fiercely. She was reunited with her late husband Robert Steidl, with whom she raised 4 children: Lynn (Chuck) Sapp, Sandee (Joe) Link, Steven (Melissa) Steidl, and Nancy (Tom) Frohna. She was a beloved grandmother of 8: Kelly (Dan) Schoenrock, Jennee (Todd) Hajewski, Amanda (Henzel) Francisco, Andy (Sara) Link, Emma (Jake) Metzer, Olivia Steidl, Maddie Frohna, and Jenny Hernandez and a cherished great-grandmother of 10: Kora, Jaina, Abby, Ryan, Jack, Daylen, Rohan, Leonila, Bennett, and Sydney. Carol was so looking forward to becoming a great-great-grandmother to Noemi-Lee.

Carol was fortunate to have enjoyed a supportive community for 7 years at Sacred Heart at Monastery Lake Senior Residence, where she made many friends while attending in-house concerts and playing bingo, sheepshead, and Left Right Center. She also enjoyed attending exercise classes at Innovative Health & Fitness where she met a great group of ladies. They went to monthly lunches together for many years.

Carol worked for over 30 years at US Bank while raising her family. Since her retirement, she found joy in rooting for her Brewers, cooking her famous pork roast, sauerkraut, and dumplings for her ever-growing family, and eating Super Hot Fudge Sundaes at Leon’s. She loved to reminisce about the lives of Hollywood stars while watching old movies on TCM and had seen nearly every movie on the Hallmark channel. Countless nights we heard her say, "Oh I've seen this one ten times."

Carol's family sends a heartfelt thank you to Zilber Family Hospice, Angela, an Aurora Home Healthcare nurse, Summer Kimble, PA-C of Aurora Infectious Disease, and the nurses of West Allis Memorial Wound Care Center. We would also like to extend thanks to additional staff at West Allis Memorial Hospital, specifically Tracy, APNP, in Cardiology, Mary in EKG, and Kayla and Rae for providing compassionate care and kindness to Carol during her treatments.

Services will take place at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (7963 S. 116th St. Franklin, WI 53132) on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:30-10:45 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. A private burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery will take place at a later date for the family.

Carol shared 93 years of wisdom and love with her family. She was a firm believer in kindness and encouraged her children to always be kind. Please go out and spread some kindness in honor of her life.
