Carol Irene Williams

Of Greendale, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 28, 2023 at the age of 93. Carol was the third daughter born to Emery and Vera Williams on January 10, 1930. She grew up in Milwaukee, and graduated from Custer High School in 1949. She married Lou Kruczynski in 1953. Over the next twelve years, Carol and Lou had three daughters and lived up and down the East Coast as a military family while Lou served in the US Navy. By 1965, the family returned to Greendale. Carol soon took a job as a checker at the Sentry Foods store in the village where she became known for her friendly and caring personality.

Carol was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She loved to read, solve sudoku, crossword, and word search puzzles. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching. After retirement, she continued to live in Greendale until she moved to senior living in Menomonee Falls in 2019 to be closer to her daughters. As her care needs increased, Carol lived her last few months at Frontida Assisted Living in Germantown.

Carol is survived by her twin daughters, Sally Mushynski and Kathy Muehlbauer (Don), and her son-in-law Herb Leppien. She is further survived by her six grandchildren, Katie (Dan), Kirstin (Steve), Ashley (Kyle), Andrew (Jenni), Amanda, Matthew (Theresa) and great-grandchildren, Oscar, Ellis, Elena, Adaline, Clark, Beau, Madeleine, Thomas, Theodore, Sylvia, and George. Carol was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, LuAnn Leppien, son-in-law Mark Mushynski, former husband Lou Kruczynski, and sisters Norma Jacoby and Julie Fox.

Services will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at St Luke’s Lutheran Church, 6705 Northway, Greendale, where Carol was a member for almost 60 years. The visitation will start at 10:00, with a service at 11:00 officiated by Pastor Monte Peterson. A luncheon will follow immediately after the service at church. Carol’s interment will take place on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Arlington Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers or plants, donations may be made in Carol’s memory to the quilters group or Prayers and Needles knitting group at St Luke’s Lutheran Church. Carol was passionately involved in these ministries for many years.

Carol’s family would like to thank the staff at Frontida for the care given the last few months.
