Carmen F. Rodriguez

January 1, 1947 — December 18, 2023

Carmen F. Rodriguez, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on December 18, 2023, in Milwaukee, WI. Born on January 1, 1947, in San Antonio, TX, Carmen's warmth and courage touched the lives of everyone she encountered throughout her 76 years.

Carmen, known affectionately to her family and friends for her infectious spirit and love of life, is survived by a loving family. Her partner of 20 years, Florentino Abiles, stood steadfastly by her side, sharing countless cherished moments. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Benito Q. Rodriguez. She leaves behind a legacy through her children: Benito (Darlene) Rodriguez Jr., Rosalinda Ramirez, Simon Rodriguez, Mary Lou (John) Jones, Veronica (Ned) Delatorre, and Juan Francisco (Evalise) Rodriguez. Her life was further enriched by her 13 grandchildren, with the poignant memory of her late grandchild, Angel Delatorre, held dear in the family’s heart. Carmen's joy multiplied with her 29 great-grandchildren and 2 precious great-great-grandchild.

Carmen's aunt, Angelica Muniz, held a special place in her life as a sister in spirit. This unique bond stood as a testament to her ability to form deep and lasting connections. Her passing also leaves a void in the hearts of numerous other relatives and friends whose lives she touched.

Before dedicating her life to her family as a homemaker, Carmen briefly worked at Walmart as a stocker. Her work ethic and commitment to providing for her family were evident in all she did. However, it was within the walls of her home where Carmen's true passion lay. She was the cornerstone of her family, creating a warm and welcoming space for all who entered.

Cooking was one of Carmen's many passions, and she relished the opportunity to bring her family together over a lovingly prepared meal. Her recipes were a blend of tradition and love, and her kitchen was the heart of the home. Beyond the home, Carmen enjoyed spending time with her family, whether it was going to dinners or simply being outdoors. She loved being the center of attention, not for vanity, but because it allowed her to share her zest for life with others.

Shopping was more than a pastime for Carmen; it was an opportunity for adventure and joy. She cherished these moments, whether it was finding the perfect gift for a loved one or simply enjoying the company of her shopping companions.

The words that best encapsulate Carmen are loving, selfless, and courageous. She faced life's challenges with a brave heart and always put the needs of others before her own. Her love was a guiding force, her selflessness a lesson in kindness, and her courage an inspiration to all who knew her.

Carmen's life story is one of unwavering love and the enduring strength of family bonds. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we celebrate the indelible mark she has left on our lives. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and her spirit will forever be a light within the hearts of those who loved her. Carmen F. Rodriguez will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love will continue to flourish in the lives of her family and friends for generations to come.
