Carmen B Johnson

Carmen Beulah Johnson, 90 of Milwaukee, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday April 20, 2011. Carmen was born in Harwood, Michigan to the late Carl and Lena Peronto on February 8 1921 and was a graduate of Felch High School in Felch, Michigan. She was preceded in death by four husbands the most recent her beloved Larry Johnson. Also preceding her In death were son, Randolph Anderson; sisters, Fay Erickson , Vivian Juntunen, Dorothy Marak, Edna Niemi, Phyllis Jaeger; and brothers, Marcel Peronto and Byron Clement. Carmen was a loving mother, mother-in-law, wife, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked as a waitress for over 35 years and possessed a keen mind and strong work ethic. She served as a shining example that hard work and resilience can overcome adversity and instilled these beliefs in her family. Her most significant accomplishments were raising a daughter and two sons and playing a cherished role in the lives of her four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Carmen was a skilled seamstress, needle worker and baker and enjoyed sharing her talents with friends and family. She was also a voracious reader who passed on her love of reading to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by: son, Ralph (Susan) Anderson of Chattanooga, Tennessee; daughter, Renee (Bruce) Adams of Milwaukee; three dear sisters, Christine Marak of Phillips, Wisconsin; Beulah Banfield of Bessemer, Michigan; Wilma Pogodzinski (Dick Bocherer) of Milwaukee; four grandchildren, Brian Anderson of Milwaukee; Keri (Rob) Varner of Signal Mountain, Tennessee; Meghan Anderson of Austin, Texas; Rebecca (Josh) Lief of Jacksonville, Florida; and three great grandchildren, Flynn Varner and Kate Varner of Signal Mountain, TN and Leah Lief of Jacksonville, Florida. Carmen is further survived by brother-in-law Howard Niemi of Bessemer, Michigan, Sister-in-law Marilyn Clement of Lincoln, Rohde Island and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 23, at 11am The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9am to 11am. Max A.
