Bud W. Holt

Bud W. Holt Passed away on August 6, 2015 at age 82. Born in Butternut, WI on December 2, 1932 the son of Sam and Matilda Holt. Attended Little White School for Grade School and graduated from Butternut High School. He married Helen Wegner on November 2, 1951 and she passed away on December 6, 1993. He married Donna Ketterl Lucas on November 19, 1995. She resides in Franklin, WI. Bud retired from Inland Steel as a Project Supervisor after working from 1952-1982. He went on to work in a private consulting business from 1982-1996. He moved back to Butternut, WI to retire. Bud worked on many special projects for the town, school and county over the years. He was President of the Butternut School Board for eight years and on Ashland County Board for 28 years, until he moved to Franklin, WI in 2012. He was on the following Ashland County Boards; the land and zoning for 28 years. Executive Committee for 20 years, the Forestry Committee for 20 years and the Highway Committee for five years. He was on the Agenda Town Board Chairman for 8 years and supervisor until 2007.He was the Snowmobile Club President in Milwaukee and for the Snow Demons in Butternut. Bud was DNR Safety Instructor for 25 years in Butternut and Milwaukee. He held classes for many years at his country home in Butternut. Hundreds of children received their certificates there. He enjoyed every minute he worked with the children and parents. Bud is lovingly survived by his wife Donna. Beloved father of Sandra (Craig) Nedset of New Berlin, WI and Syndee (Paul) Jorgensen of Wauwatosa, WI. Proud grandfather of Daniel, Mark and Abbey Nedset. Step father of Jean Mathe of Hales Corners, WI Thomas (Barbara) Lucas of Avon, OH and Rev. James Lucas of Appleton, WI. Step grandfather of Jacob Mathe and Sarah and Brian Lucas. Dear brother of Evon (Don) Jordan of Park Falls, WI and June Timm of Rochester, MN. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends. Bud is preceded in death by his first wife Helen, parents and sisters, Irene Treml and Mavis Treml. Bud will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in New Berlin, WI on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 10 AM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church (301 W. Main Street Butternut, WI) at 11 AM.
